Beverly Akerman has received some welcome news:

- through the offices of the good people at Sarasvàti Productions, the Playwrights Guild of Canada and the generousity of the Canada Council, Beverly is going to be able to visit Winnipeg, give a reading, and see her monologue "'Chelle" produced at the end of September.

- her short short story “Adela could not find her way out of the woods” just won first prize in the Vocabula Review Well-Written Writing Contest and will be published online on Sept. 19th.
(The title is a line from Edward Gorey's "shuffled story" The Helpless Doorknob)

- her creative nonfiction piece "Six Pixels of Separation" will appear in the fall issue of Grain Magazine.
